In early spring 2017 the APA Ethics Committee put out a call for views on the current APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct. The Committee plans to seat an Ethics Committee Task Force for drafting a new code that is “visionary and transformational and becomes a leading resource regarding psychological ethics.”
The SQIP Ethics Committee responded to the call, in consultation with the SQIP governing board. Click here to read the SQIP document sent to the APA Ethics Committee.
We are looking forward to further discussion of the document in August at the 2017 APA conference in Washington, DC. Join us!
The purpose of our webpage is to invite fellow SQIP members to discuss their experiences and readings of the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Professional Code of Conduct for its assumptions and omissions.
Please consider posting your thoughts. We welcome your thinking on the Ethics Code that might inform our work and recommendations for changes in the APA Ethics Code.
